Most of us enjoy getting a little creative and love sharing our work — especially this time of year. Things are winding down, staff is shifting into summer mode, the pace feels slower, and everyone is ready for summer break!
One fun way to celebrate the end of the school year is by creating personalized certificates for students and staff. A creative font can completely change the look and feel of a certificate and make it feel extra special.
I wanted to share an awesome Google extension that gives you access to an amazing collection of fonts to help create memorable certificates and classroom projects: Extensis Fonts.
How to Add Extensis Fonts
- Open a Google Doc or Google Slides (Slides Go has a really cute FREE template Free template that I downloaded.)
- Click Extensions on the top menu (both Docs and Slides)
- Select Add-ons → Get add-ons.
- Search for Extensis Fonts.
- Install the extension.
Note: Some school districts only allow administrators to install extensions. If you do not see the option to install add-ons, check with your technology administrator.

How to Use Extensis Fonts
Once Extensis Fonts has been added:
- Go back to Extensions.
- Choose Extensis Fonts.
- Click Start.
A menu of fonts will appear on the right side of your screen. Simply highlight your text and explore all the different font options. See the quick video below:

This is a simple way to add personality and creativity to certificates, newsletters, classroom signs, and end-of-year celebrations.
Sometimes the smallest technology tips can make a big impact. Extensis Fonts is easy to use, adds creativity to your projects, and is a fun way to wrap up the school year with a little extra flair. Give it a try and let your creativity shine!
